"There are certainly many, many cat people who are extroverts and many, many dog people who aren't," Gosling says.

The Normal Cat Person

Which would you rather do: spend time alone? Always willing to try something new? You might perhaps be a cat person. According to the survey, cat owners were more likely than dog owners to be inquisitive, unusual in their behavior and thought processes, and worry more easily.

Indeed, dog owners make more pals, but it isn't the complete picture.

However, they point out that this difference may be the result of living close to other cat enthusiasts.

Cat lovers tend to be single more often than not, but this isn't your typical cat lady scenario.

Alright, so technically speaking, cat owners are more likely to be single than dog owners. Facebook reports that roughly 30% of cat owners and 24% of dog owners are single, while the differences are just 6%. Therefore, discard the inaccurate idea of an elderly woman sitting by herself in a sea of cats: Male and younger cat lovers are equally likely to be single as older and/or female cat lovers.

Though basically, they're pretty much everywhere, there is a little suggestion that cats are more common in cities and dogs are more common in rural areas where they have more space to go around.

We have to admit, the results are fascinating even though it's safe to assume that this is a lot to infer from how frequently someone shares pictures of their beloved fur balls.
